	George N. Parks: A Genuine Face of America George Parks, the Director of the UMass Minuteman Marching Band, was a dear friend. We had a wonderful telephone conversation shortly before our Face of America trip to Fenway Park. We began the planning stage for a Face of America episode about his work with the band. If ever there was a person who personified the Face of America on its best days, it was George. His enthusiastic pursuit of excellence was infectious. His leadership skills inspired thousands of young people to live a life of service to community and country. His kindness made an indelible mark on my soul. This is a musical tribute crafted by someone who admired, respected and loved the man, his music and his band. My wife and I are devastated by the loss of our dear friend.
